Disability

You may be eligible for Plan credits while you are receiving:

• Worksafe wage loss benefits
• Employment Insurance sickness benefits
• Employment Insurance maternity leave or parental leave benefits
• Short Term Disability benefits under the Health Benefits Plan

Please contact the Administrator if you are receiving these benefits.

Disability Pension

If you are under 65 and have been totally and permanently disabled [for at least six months], you may be eligible to retire immediately or once your Long Term Disability benefits under the Health Benefit Plan end. Please contact the Administrator as soon as you become disabled.

Shortened Life Expectancy

If a physician has certified that you have an illness or disability that will shorten your life considerably, and you have not yet started your pension, you may withdraw your benefit in a lump sum or in a series of payments. If you are terminally ill, you may contact the Administrator for further details.
